We are not a training provider, and we are not a search firm.
Board Match exists to answer one question for people who want a seat at the table: which organisations should I be talking to, and why now?
For non-executive directors and chairs, trustees and advisory board members, and for interim executives and fractional leaders — the same signal reaches all of them, because the same change in an organisation is what creates the need.
Why we built it
The market is built around the people doing the hiring.
Search firms are paid by the organisation. Job boards carry the small number of roles that get published. And a large part of the non-executive sector sells preparation — courses, accreditations, memberships — to people who finish them no better informed about where the seats actually are.
Almost nobody works for the candidate. That is the gap: not a shortage of capable non-executives, but a shortage of anyone telling them where to aim before a search begins.
What we believe
Four things that shape how this works.
Timing beats volume
A list of two thousand organisations is not an advantage. Knowing which twenty are worth a letter this month is.
Say what the data supports
A signal means an organisation looks more likely than most to be considering a change. We say that, rather than calling it a vacancy.
The candidate is the customer
We work for the person looking for the seat. That decides what we build and who we answer to when the two would conflict.
Beyond the usual networks
The whole of the UK and every kind of organisation — private companies and listed ones, charities, housing providers, academy trusts and public bodies.
Who we are
Part of Applied AI.
Board Match is built by Applied AI, which builds practical software for specific industry problems rather than general-purpose tools. Board Match is one of several ventures in that family.
It is in development. If the idea is useful to you, we would like to hear from you while it is still being shaped.
